1. Arizona

The Wildcats are another great program that experienced a down year last season, limping to a 17-15 finish in a season overshadowed by FBI investigations. Head coach Sean Miller has taken this team to the Elite Eight three times in his decade at Arizona, but still hasn’t broken through to the Final Four. This team will look a bit different last season and their top 5 recruiting class will almost guarantee a return to contention for the Wildcats.

Brandon Randolph left for the NBA and a few others graduated or transferred, but there’s a considerable amount of talent joining Arizona this year. The Wildcats landed point guard Nico Mannion and forward Josh Green, a pair of talented 5-star prospects. Brandon Williams (11.4 ppg, 3.4 apg) and Chase Jeter (10.9 ppg, 6.6 rpg) are both back, and the team should also have the services of Cornell transfer Stone Gettings. There’s also talent on the bench, including former UC Irvine sharpshooter Max Hazzard.

The Wildcats are going to be the most talented team in the Pac-12 again and will be the heavy favorites at this year’s Wooden Legacy. They’ll look to become the sixth Pac-12 team to win the tournament, starting against Pepperdine in the final game of the opening night. There are questions surrounding the shadiness of Sean Miller, but he managed to nab an impressive recruiting class to rebuild this team. Mannion is going to be one of the nation’s best point guards while Green, Williams, and Jeter should help form a forceful roster.
