NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Standout performers at 2019 Peach Jam
Cade Cunningham – Texas Titans
CG | 6-foot-6 | 215 lbs | No. 2 overall
Cade Cunningham is unbelievably impressive every single time that I watch him play. An absolutely incredible scorer and distributor at 6-foot-6, he is definitely worthy of being ranked in the top-2 of the class alongside Evan Mobley. Cunningham dominates seemingly every single game and is a major reason for Texas Titans’ success during this campaign. He dictates their play so well and is going to be one of the most heavily discussed players in the class throughout the next year.
This is due to the fact that his brother is currently an assistant coach at Oklahoma State. Although top-rated players are usually destined to play for a blueblood program, Cunningham could be a deviation from the norm. Regardless, there could be a long way left to go in his recruitment. If he does eventually choose to play for a blueblood, he still has massive potential as possibly the best player in this entire class. The skill and athleticism are there for him to be very special.
Cunningham posted 24.4 points (.738/.250/.735), 7.2 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game across five contests of Peach Jam’s pool play. Yes, you read that correctly: 73.8% from the field…as a guard. Cunningham is simply special when it comes to scoring inside the ac and he can be damaging in so many ways. Watch out for him to be a dominant force with improved perimeter shooting.
That concludes this look at some of the top performers at 2019 Peach Jam. These players all stood out to me in a variety of ways and it will interesting to see their recruitments develop before taking the court as college athletes.
