Expectations for Knight in 2019-20

An argument can be made that Knight is one of the most underrated players in the country. Another argument can be made that the senior is the only remaining good player on an otherwise uninspiring roster. The truth is that both of those scenarios can be true. Knight is a player that not many outside of the media or Colonial Athletic conference know about. The Tribe have an uninspiring roster due to attrition and it would be a shame to never see a player like Knight ever make the NCAA tournament.

Knight is expected to pick up right where he left off a season ago. Many expect the big man to be right in the mix for the national awards just like he was a season ago. It would be a tremendous surprise if he was not in the mix for Colonial Player of the Year. He will make the Colonial all conference team. If the senior puts up the numbers, he did a season ago it is not out of the question that he has an outside chance to be on some All-America lists.

It was mentioned that Knight tested the NBA draft waters a season ago before electing to come back and play his final season for the Tribe. It is hard to see Knight getting drafted in the NBA, but he still has an entire season to play before thinking about that. The Tribe are going to need Knight to have any hope of competing in the league, it is going to be tremendously hard for him to replicate the numbers he had a season ago, but if he can do it the Tribe have a chance to finish in the top half of the conference.

In the top half of the conference would give them favorable matchups in the tournament. In the conference tournaments anything can happen. Everyone needs to ask themselves, is the big man the most underrated player in the country?
