11. South Dakota State Jackrabbits (Nov 21)

2018-19 record: 24-9 (14-2)

The Jackrabbits reign of terror in the Summit League is over, now that the program’s all-time leading scorer Mike Daum has graduated. Skyler Flatten also is gone along with 20 ppg David Jenkins, who followed head coach TJ Otzelberger to UNLV. That leaves South Dakota State to essentially start all over, with a bunch of rising sophomores leading the way in a new era. But they’ll take their lumps starting next season.

10. Long Beach State 49ers (Nov 24)

2018-19 record: 15-19 (8-8)

The top three scorers for the 49ers have graduated, including All-Big west performer Deishuan Booker. No returning player averaged more than 7.2 ppg, leaving gaping holes on offense. There are some talented recruits coming in for Long Beach State but they won’t do much good against the much more talented Wildcats.

9. San Jose State Spartans (Nov 14)

2018-19 record: 4-27 (1-17)

Another year, another offseason of transfers for San Jose State. Their two double-digit scorers Michael Steadman and Noah Baumann left for Wyoming and USC respectively. There’s a sliver of hope that the Spartans will be more competitive next season if returning guards Seneca Knight and Zach Chappell takes another step in development, along with one of the incoming JUCO commits outperforming expectations.

8. Northern Arizona Lumberjacks (Nov 6)

2018-19 record: 10-21 (8-12)

The opening game for Arizona might be a little more tricky than expected against the Big Sky foe. They return just about their entire roster, led by big man Jonathan Andre and point guard Carlos Hines. Northern Arizona is balanced offensively and could cause some problems, although their defensive issues may just make it a high-scoring blowout.
