North Carolina Tar Heels

With Day’Ron Sharpe (No. 22) already committed, North Carolina is off to a strong start in the 2020 class. He is a 6-foot-10 big man with plenty of polish to his game and is extremely likely to be an immediate impact player at the collegiate level. Additionally, he is a solid foundation commitment for the program to work around over the coming months. North Carolina currently has 15 scholarships offered to uncommitted prospects and they seem to be in great positions with many of them. It is now time for the coaching staff to focus in on the “closing” aspect of recruiting and nail down some commitments.

Even with Sharpe already committed, it is reasonable to assume that Coach Williams will target another big to play alongside him. Of those currently offered, both Walker Kessler (No. 16) and Hunter Dickinson (No. 30) would be solid fits inside while Isaiah Todd (No. 14) brings plenty of size as a power forward that is definitely on their radar. On the wings, four prospects seem to stand out in the forms of Ziaire Williams (No. 7), Earl Timberlake (No. 28), Cam’Ron Fletcher (No. 36), and Puff Johnson (No. 49). It is also important to mention that the Tar Heels have solid shots at potentially landing Caleb Love (No. 25) or Bryce Thompson (No. 20) as two of the top guard available.

To put it simply, North Carolina is heavily targeting a bevy of top players in this class. The Tar Heels certainly seem to be a strong position with many of them but it is time for the program to narrow its list of targets and hone in on landing some commitments. Considering their strong base, UNC has the potential to land yet another incredible class. This is one program that I am quite excited to see continue working on the recruiting trail.
