5. Wisconsin @ Xavier (November 13, 2018)

Xavier came into the game riding a 41 game home winning streak vs non-conference opponents. Ethan Happ dominated the Musketeers in the low post, however, racking up 30 points and 13 rebounds en route to a 77-68 victory. Happ was coming off a game where he recorded only the second triple-double in Wisconsin history vs Coppin State, but the performance against Xavier somehow upstaged it.

The Badgers climbed out to an early lead, but Xavier clawed back within two just before halftime. Wisconsin started the second half with an 18-4 run led by Happ, and they never let Xavier close again. Happ had 8 points and 2 assists in the run after the break. The early season win helped propel Wisconsin to an 8-1 start to the season, allowing them to rise as high as #12 in the AP Poll.

From an analytics standpoint, Happ had a 46.8% usage rate, showing the Badgers offense ran almost entirely through him. He was efficient, making 15 of his 23 shot attempts and only recording 2 turnovers despite carrying the heavy workload.
