13. Southwestern University (Nov. 7)

2018-19 Record: 14-12

The only non-division 1 opponent on the Horned Frogs’ schedule, the Southwestern University Pirates (D-III) will head to Fort Worth to face TCU to open the season. Considering the fact that the Pirates were merely an average team in Division Three, this should be an easy win for the Horned Frogs.

12. Winthrop Eagles (Dec. 11)

2018-19 Record: 18-12

The Winthrop Eagles had a quietly good 2018-19 season, finishing six games above .500 in a solid Big South Conference. The Eagles will return their top scorer and rebounder, and should be a contender in the Big South, but likely have no shot at keeping it close with the Horned Frogs.

11. Illinois State Redbirds (Dec. 3)

2018-19 Record: 17-16

Illinois State had a very disappointing 2018-19 season, barely finishing over .500 in what turned out to be a wide open Missouri Valley. Now that Malik Yarbrough, their top player in just about everything, is gone, I would expect the Redbirds to put up little fight.

10. Air Force Falcons (Nov. 18)

2018-19 Record: 14-18

The Air Force Falcons failed to finish above .500, but they played better than expected, showing flashes of potential towards the bottom half of the Mountain West. With most of their team returning, the Falcons should be improved from last year, but still likely not enough to beat the Horned Frogs.
