Lance Ware – Camden, NJ

PF | 6-foot-9 | 215 lbs | No. 47 overall

Lance Ware is one of the most recent players to trim his list in recent weeks. Michigan, who only offered him a scholarship on July 16, was able to make the cut. It seems clear that the coaching staff has been able to make an immediate impression on him and the Wolverines should be considered to be a solid threat moving forward. It is also important to mention that Coach Howard will have the opportunity to make a big-time in-person pitch when the 6-foot-9 power forward officially visits campus on Sept. 6.

Ware has, though, also set visits with most of the other schools remaining in his recruitment as well. In order to land this commitment, Michigan will have to compete with Kentucky, Miami (FL), Ohio State, and Providence as the other schools to make the most recent cut. He is yet to schedule a visit to Kentucky but he is expected to make a trip.

In an interview with Pat Lawless of Prep Circuit, Ware had this to say about the appeal of playing in Ann Arbor:

"“They have a new coach in Juwan Howard, who played in the NBA. He knows what he is talking about and what it’s going to take for me to get to the next level. I think it could be a good fit and I like what they have to offer. I’ve been on their campus and they have a crazy atmosphere.”"

As a player, Lance Ware brings plenty of size and athleticism. He runs the floor quite well and can be a matchup nightmare for other forwards. He most recently competed with Renaissance (NY) on the Nike EYBL circuit and was quite productive. Across 18 total games for the team, he averaged 11.4 points (.497/NA/.609), 6.0 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game. Although he is not a threat to stretch the floor, Ware can contribute in many ways.
