Joshua Christopher – Lakewood, CA

SG | 6-foot-4 | 200 lbs | No. 9 overall

Joshua Christopher is hardwired to score. At 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds, he is a physically built shooting guard with the ability to fill it up from almost everyone on the floor. He can knock down shots from the perimeter, create for himself, and is a terror when attacking the basket. Christopher exhibits a “killer instinct” when it comes to making big shots for his team while also showcasing some secondary playmaking skills as well. On the defensive end of the floor, he is growing consistently and has the size/athleticism to be dynamic.

On the EYBL circuit, Christopher was often asked to do a bit too much. As a result, his efficiencies took a dip but he was still a high-level scorer for Vegas Elite (NV). In 17 total contests with the team, he dropped in 21.4 points (.440/.224/.711), 5.2 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game. It is also important to mention that Christopher is a better shooter than his EYBL percentage lets on. He might not be elite from distance but he has a solid stroke that will make him a solid threat in college.

Christopher cut his list to five teams near the end of July: Arizona State, Kentucky, Missouri, UCLA, and Michigan. At this moment, there are only two crystal ball predictions for his commitment but both are in favor of Kentucky. Nonetheless, it seems as though it is still relatively early in this recruitment and the Wolverines are in the market for a dynamic scoring guard or wing. Christopher would fit that mold and landing a top-10 player is never a bad thing.
