9.  Florida Gators (SEC)

Average recruiting ranking: 26.10

Florida’s back-to-back national championships do not fall in this decade but the program was still quite successful. The Gators have made eight of the last NCAA Tournaments and also have four Elite Eights to their name during that span. It seems as though the program is just knocking on the door of yet another dominant stretch of top-10 play. It is also important to mention that Florida transitioned coaches from Billy Donovan to Mike White quite seamlessly as they remain one of the top teams in the SEC despite losing one of the best coaches in the country to the NBA.

Even though head coaches Billy Donovan and Mike White split this era of coaching for the Gators, recruiting stayed incredibly successful throughout. The program truly landed some insanely talented classes but none were as highly-rated as their 2010 class which ranked at No. 5 in the nation. This is a bit of a throwback but that class included the likes of Patric Young, Casey Prather, and the massively underrated Scottie Wilbekin. There are, though, plenty of other players worth mentioning from this era. Most notably, Bradley Beal, Chris Walker, Scottie Lewis, Andrew Nembhard, Devin Robinson, and Tre Mann were all five-star prospects in their respective classes.

It certainly seems as though Florida is trending in the right direction on the recruiting trail. I know that sounds crazy considering they finished ninth in the 2010’s, but Coach White has this program dominating right now. He is fresh off landing one of the best classes in program history in 2019 and it is reasonable to assume that he will continue to secure high-level commitments. I have no concerns regarding the future of the Gators as a powerhouse in the SEC.
