4. Kansas Jayhawks (Big 12)

Average recruiting ranking: 14.50

You would be hard-pressed to find a more consistent program in the country than Kansas. Year in and year out, head coach Bill Self puts together an insanely talented roster that ends up posting a very successful season. That much was evident throughout the past decade with 10 NCAA Tournament appearances, nine of which where the program was awarded with a top-2 seed. While the program did not win a title over the last 10 years, they did make two Final Four appearances in 2012 and 2018.

Kansas has clearly been one of the most consistently successful programs on the court during this era and their recruiting efforts show why. Despite the fact that the Jayhawks have not cut down the championship nets in some time, head coach Bill Self has been snagging top recruits with relative ease. He landed four top-10 classes during the era and that is indicative of top-level relationship-building. This included 10 players ranked in the top-10 of their respective classes, including top-rated prospects in Andrew Wiggins and Josh Jackson.

The Jayhawks will always be near the top of the recruiting rankings. Although they might not be a major contender to land the No. 1 overall class ever, Kansas seemingly always hangs around the top-20 and that is more than enough to remain one of the nation’s most competitive teams. Unlike some of the others on this list, Coach Self seems to always take his talent and help them reach their ceiling as a No. 1 overall seed in the Big Dance. But now fans have to be wondering when their second title will come under his leadership. There hasn’t been one since 2008, and that is bound to change at some point, right?
