3. Arizona Wildcats (Pac-12)

Average recruiting ranking: 9.30

Arizona’s successes during the 2010’s were largely overshadowed by the fact that the program was unable to reach the Final Four. Despite some incredibly talented rosters, the Wildcats seemed to always fall a game or two short of that goal and therefore they are always regarded as just below the “elite” level in the country. Still, Arizona reached seven NCAA Tournaments during the decade and asserted itself as a top program in the Pac-12.

Regardless of your thoughts on the Arizona program over the past couple of years, it is easy to see that they have been remarkable successful on the recruiting trail. Head coach Sean Miller has been a dominant force on the west coast and the Wildcats have landed seven top-10 classes in the last 10 years. This is clearly a showcase of their immense talent as well as consistency on the recruiting trail. Deandre Ayton, Aaron Gordon, and Stanley Johnson are there of their most notable commitments of the decade while they are continuing to add top-of-the-line prospects for the future.

Arizona’s future is a bit murky because of some of their connections to recruiting issues in recent years. Assuming that they avoid any potential repercussions, though, and it is easy to foresee Coach Miller continuing to bring in top-rated players. The question now focuses on whether or not he can take the program to the next level on the court and make some Final Four appearances.
