T-24. USC Trojans (Pac-12)

Average recruiting ranking: 38.10

In similar fashion to Stanford, USC is another Pac-12 program that struggled to find consistent success during the 2010’s. Despite strong recruiting, they made just three NCAA Tournament appearances and never made it out of the opening weekend. The program also suffered through some dismal seasons including a 6-26 (1-17 P12) campaign in 2011-12. Andy Enfield has spent six full seasons with the program now but he is yet to truly carry the team to the next level.

USC is currently in the midst of a tremendous recruiting stretch, though. The program has landed a top-50 class in each of the past seven years and they have secured commitment from some elite players along the way. Most recently, the Trojans’ 2019 class is ranked at No. 6 in the country while featuring an elite duo of Isaiah Mobley and Onyeka Okongwu. These two players rank fifth and sixth, respectively, in USC’s list of top commits ever. Some of the other players that deserve a mention include and Chimezie Metu and Jordan McLaughlin as four-star prospects who then posted strong careers.

USC looks poised for a strong future as a result of their hot start in 2020 recruiting. The Trojans have already secured a commitment from the top overall prospect in the class in Evan Mobley and that is already a tremendous success, even if it was not necessarily a surprise. The program is also fresh off a top-10 recruiting class in 2019. There is clearly plenty of talent on the future rosters and it is time for the Trojans to turn that into a successful string of seasons on the court.
