Jalen Terry – Mount Morris, MI

PG | 5-foot-10 | 155 lbs | No. 54 overall | COMMITTED

Jalen Terry was one of the first 2020 prospects to announce his commitment as he chose Michigan State all the way back in the first week of April. Although a tad undersized at 5-foot-10, he is a uniquely talented guard with the ability to make big-time players. Terry is extremely polished with his skill moves and it also helps that he boasts elite-level quickness as well. This in-state product has made his fair share of headlines over the past few years and will be a valuable addition to the Michigan State backcourt in the future.

Over the course of this summer, Terry more than backed up his high ranking while playing on the Nike EYBL circuit. He competed in 18 contests for The Family Detroit (MI) and functioned as a one top scorer and playmaker for the team. Terry completed the season with averages of 17.4 points (.435/.287/.771), 4.6 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 2.1 steals per game. He was simply one of the most productive players on the circuit at each stop and he rose up the recruiting rankings as a result.

With regards to his fit with the program, Terry should be an immediately impactful guard for Coach Izzo. Michigan State is graduating Cassius Winston and Joshua Langford after this coming season and that will leave playing time available in the backcourt. Foster Loyer and Rocket Watts clearly look poised to take some of the minutes but Terry could see a solid role as a freshman.
