Why you should know Carry?

The sophomore point guard from Solon, Ohio made quite the first impression on the Atlantic 10. Carry had a record-setting freshman season and he has not come anywhere close to reaching his ceiling. That is good news for the Dukes, as Carry could be the player who helps break the postseason NCAA and NIT tournament drought. If nothing else he is on pace to set numerous records at Duquesne. Dukes fans cannot wait for what is in store for year two.

The freshman season for Carry was one of the best seasons in Atlantic 10 and Dukes history, not just for a freshman. He led the conference in assists last year with 5.8 per game. Those assist averages are a Dukes record. The 161 overall assists fell two shy of the Dukes freshman record of 163. Carry would have surpassed the overall record had he not missed four games because of an injury. The guard led all freshman and finished 14th among all players in the NCAA with 2.4 steals per game. Carry proved right out of the gate that he was going to be a leader and that coach Dambrot could trust him.

Carry is a great floor general and is an unselfish player who does the right things to win a game. He has quick hands and is an elite passer. One of the other things the guard does to help his teams win games is score. He finished second on the team last year with 12.1 points per game. As the season grew and the Dukes got into conference his averages increased to 13.4 per game. This season Carry is going to need to score as well as distribute. The sophomore has shown no signs of going through the sophomore slump and can play even better than a year ago.
