18) Wisconsin – Kohl Center

The Kohl Center has a reputation for being one of the best home court advantages in the country, yet even that reputation may not do the numbers real justice.

Wisconsin has played more home games than anyone else since the turn of the century, so we have more data points for them than anyone else. And, in that time frame, they’ve only lost more than five home games in a season once (2017-18) and have a win percentage well above 80 percent.

They also win roughly 35 percent more games at home than they do on the road – that’s exactly what home court advantage is all about.

The 17,249-seat capacity makes it the 21st biggest arena in college basketball and it is always packed with Badger fans ready to cheer their team to victory (this is where I could make a joke about there being nothing else to do in Wisconsin, but I wouldn’t do that to the fine people of Wisconsin).

With a loyal fan base and plenty of seats to them to fill, the Kohl Center has the kind of atmosphere that is extremely tough to play and has become a hotbed for upsets. Just ask Michigan, who was 17-0 before they made the trip to Madison last season.
