Why you should know about Turner

The junior guard was one of the best players in the MAC a season ago. He also had one of the most historic seasons in Bowling Green basketball history. Turner was the first sophomore at Bowling Green since 1972 to be honored with First-Team All-Conference honors. The junior from Detroit is turning into one of the most prolific scorers in Bowling Green history.

The junior led the Falcons in total points (619), assists (105), and steals (47). That is a feat that has not been accomplished for Bowling Green since 1991 season. His total points are good for the sixth-best season by any Falcon. As mentioned earlier the junior is turning into a prolific scorer. He scored in double figures in 94% of the games he played. That translated into an 18 point-per-game average. Turner is a great shooter and score from all three levels, including making at least one three-pointer in 88% of the games played.

Turner showed that he was one of the most complete players in the league as well. He can defend as evidenced by his 1.4 steals per game a season ago. Turner is a great point guard and is great at setting his teammates up. He averaged just over three assists per game last year and rarely turned the ball over. He is going to need to show he can lead by example this year as well. The Falcons are going to rely on the junior for offense and to make the team better. Bowling Green is going to go as far as Turner can carry them and if last year is any indication it may be a magical year in Bowling Green, Ohio.
