Zach Loveday – Gallipolis, OH

C | 7-foot-0 | 200 lbs | No. 121 overall

Zach Loveday boasts the ideal center archetype for the modern game. He is a true 7-footer, can finish above the rim or stretch the floor, blocks shots inside, and can switch on the perimeter when necessary. Of course, there is definite room for refinement in the coming years but Loveday’s playing style will be a tremendous fit for a modern scheme. As a result, the top-150 big man has been targeted by many elite programs in the midwest. In my opinion, Loveday is one of the more underrated prospects in the class and his recruitment is intriguing as a result.

As of right now, it seems as though Louisville and Indiana have emerged as the favorites in this battle. He has already visited both campuses and they look poised to compete for the commitment. With that said, though, there are plenty of other suitors also involved that are bound to receive visits in the near future as well to potentially shake up predictions for Loveday. Some of his other scholarship offers have come from Texas A&M, Maryland, Florida, and Ohio State (among many others)

There is seemingly plenty of time remaining in Loveday’s recruitment and it will be interesting to see if any of those recent names continue to climb up his list. Loveday indicated to Peegs.com in mid-July that he would like to release a top-5 in the fall and take his official visits to those schools before making a decision at the early signing period. That list is yet to be released but future developments will be fun to watch.
