Boston College Eagles

Boston College is the lone non-powerhouse program in this recruiting battle. They are, though, the local school as Terrence Clarke is a native of Massachusetts. This hometown product would be an outstanding snag for head coach Jim Christian as Clarke could potentially carry the program quickly back to relevance. The Eagles have missed 10 consecutive NCAA Tournaments and they are in vital need of a big-time recruit to change their current status as a middling-at-best team in the ACC. There does not seem to be a ton of positive momentum for the program right now but winning this recruiting battle would be a massive victory.

Alas, it does not seem likely that Clarke will be staying home and committing to Boston College. There are simply way too many powerhouse programs involved with the young star and he already seems to be leaning towards Kentucky as his eventual landing spot. To put it simply, Clarke spurning the other programs involved in this battle and committing to the Eagles would be one of the bigger recruiting surprises of the past year. Boston College does not boast a tremendous reputation for developing talent (at least not when compared with the other contenders) and they are unable to offer a chance at winning the national title.

It is, though, a good look that Boston College was able to make the final six for a top-5 prospect even if he is a local product. The Eagles are in need of a resurgence in the near future and that will hopefully happen with a strong 2020 or 2021 recruiting class. They are not off to a tremendous start with either class at this moment but that could change quickly. It might not come via a commitment from Clarke but the Eagles have made solid inroads with other targets as well.
