7. Big East

Impact recruits: Jeremiah Robinson-Earl (Villanova), Bryan Antoine (Villanova), KyKy Tandy (Xavier), Romeo Weems (DePaul), Greg Gantt (Providence)

The two recent national titles and an elevated profile of head coach Jay Wright have put Villanova in a position where five-star talents are regularly going to be involved. They landed Jahvon Quinerly in the season prior and got a pair of five-star recruits in forward Robinson-Earl and guard Antoine. Although Antoine is out until December with an injury, both players are going to be key for the Wildcats being a Final Four contender.

There wasn’t too much noise from the other Big East schools, although it was a nice performance by the DePaul Blue Demons. They landed a former Kansas commit in guard Markese Jacobs, along with four-star forward and top-65 forward Romeo Weems. They have the 3rd ranked class in the conference this time around, behind Villanova and Xavier, another top-25 overall class filled with five commits.

Patrick Ewing and Georgetown loaded their class with a few talented frontcourt prospects, while Providence’s only commit was a big one in top-70 wing Greg Gantt. With so much returning talent in the Big East for this upcoming season, it’s not too surprising the lack of players from this class. However, look for the conference rise up the rankings a year from now with even better recruit collectively.
