Florida – Andrew Nembhard

Though losing two veteran scorers, including its leader from a season ago, Florida is still viewed as a top-tier team in the SEC. After adding star transfer Kerry Blackshear Jr. and a strong recruiting class, the Gators will have a slightly new look. But they still return a trio of sophomores including floor general Andrew Nembhard.

While he wasn’t as much a scorer as his then-freshman counterpart Noah Locke was in the middle of conference play, Nembhard saw consistent minutes, especially as the season dwindled down, starting all 36 games at the one.

Florida should take a big step forward offensively this year which will open up even more opportunities for Nembhard. The 6-foot-5 guard earned SEC All-Freshman honors last season after averaging 8 points and a team-best 5.4 assists per game.

Ole Miss – Breein Tyree

This is an easy decision. Breein Tyree decided to return for a senior season after leading the Rebels in scoring (17.9 points per game) and proving to be a star in the thick of conference play last year.

He picked up All-SEC honors and is the top returning scorer in the conference entering 2019-20, getting the job done efficiently. Each season his shooting percentages have increased while adjusting the NCAA play, reaching 45.9 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from 3 his junior year.

Though the Rebels lost Terence Davis to the NBA, the team will be just fine with Tyree’s return. In just one season, head coach Kermit Davis took a 12-20 Ole Miss team and turned them into a 20-13, NCAA Tournament squad. With his star back for one last year, Ole Miss should take another step forward and reach the NCAA Tournament once again.
