Kentucky Wildcats

Although the Wildcats haven’t “officially” offered a scholarship to Scrubb, John Calipari and company absolutely have interest in the in-state native product. Outside of Duke, there’s no bigger stage to showcase your talents than Kentucky and growing up in Louisville, the top JUCO recruit had to have seen them all the time until now. Whether he viewed them with hatred is another question.

The obvious question will be where Scrubb fit’s on the 2020-21 team. Kentucky has four freshmen wings listed at 6’5 or 6’6 already joining the team and has Cam’Ron Fletcher committed to the 2020 class. Not only that but five-star shooting guard BJ Boston is part of the group as well. We know a few players from this year’s team will leave early but the reality is, some guys each year get the short end of the stick. As talented as Scrubb is, there’s the chance that it could happen to him as well. Just no good reason to risk that with only two years left of eligibility.

Louisville Cardinals

The heavy favorite to land Scrubb, the Cardinals may have always been in the lead to land him regardless of how good they currently are. But the fact that they’re recruiting him while being a preseason top-10 team and a legit Final Four threat, the timing just couldn’t be better. They already have a five-star small forward arriving in Samuell Williamson and will need to replace graduating seniors Jordan Nwora and sharpshooter Ryan McMahon.

Landing Scrubb is a must for the Cardinals in the 2020 class, who could have a mega group if five-star point guard Caleb Love joins them. Nimari Burnett and forward Jaemyn Brakefield could also be in play for the team next year as well, keeping them in contention once again. It’s hard to imagine what program could offer more than Louisville, which is why they are so favored to land Scrubb.
