12.  Nebraska

The excitement is at a high right now as the Cornhuskers were able to bring in Fred Hoiberg as their new head coach. After firing Time Miles after a very disappointing year last year, Nebraska hit what many would consider a home run in hiring Hoiberg.

Hoiberg is fresh off an unsuccessful stint with the Chicago Bulls but was very good at Iowa State. The Cornhuskers are hoping he reclaims that magic by getting back in the college game.

One thing we do know for sure is that the Cornhuskers will not only look different from the coaching staff but also the players. Hoiberg has brought in 11 new players and not a single one has played for the Huskers yet. It will be interesting to see if he can get this group together and learn his system and play together.

He has some talented players coming and if his system gets going right away this could be a pretty good team, but on paper, there is still a lot of question marks and with none of the players being veterans at Nebraska it is tough to rank them much higher than this. It would not surprise many if they were able to climb into the top half the conference, but nobody is going to pick them to be in the top five.

Hoiberg looks like he can be very successful at Nebraska and that may show some this year, but realistically this is a team that should be ready to contend in a couple of years.
