Value of Gregg Marshall

Gregg Marshall is a perfect fit at Wichita and has the full backing of the fans, he’s a proven winner and there’s no reason to second guess him after missing out on the tournament last season. Marshall will rebuild and if it doesn’t happen this year it’ll happen the year after. With only one senior on his roster this year he has an opportunity to further develop more talent. Something Marshall has proved he excels at. Marshall has spent a lot of time out on the recruiting trail and getting a player like Etienne proves that he’s still got some big pull.

There are good pieces there this year and as the season goes on I think we’ll see improvement like we did last season. Wichita has to win the games they’re supposed to and be able to put at least a few quality wins in order to be considered for an at large bid. Just missing the tournament last year with 22 wins means Wichita State is going to probably need at least two or three more wins than last season.

The biggest hole in their resume last year was the lack of quality wins, something I’m sure Gregg Marshall has been thinking about when trying to schedule. Wichita State is a team that’s a strong candidate to improve on last year and with a youthful team have a chance to make a statement this year.
