Alabama Basketball: Top 2020 recruiting targets for the Crimson Tide
Josh Hall – Durham, NC
SF | 6-foot-9 | 190 lbs | No. 40 overall
Josh Hall might have the highest ceiling of any player in the 2020 class. At 6-foot-9 with fluid shot mechanics and plenty of athleticism, Hall projects as a major matchup nightmare in the future. Although not yet a great defender, there is room for him to develop on that end as a result of quickness and size.
Offensively, though, his game is already very well-rounded. He might not boast a truly elite skill yet, but he is an above-average finisher around the rim and definitely stretches the floor.
If he is able to put it all together and take significant strides defensively, you would be hard-pressed to find a better all-around player. Hall is a perfect fit in the modern age of basketball and his ceiling is insanely high.
He reclassified back a year from his original class (2019), and this has allowed him to steadily improve his game over the last year. As a result of this decision and his strong play over the last year, Hall is regarded as a top-50 prospect and schools from around the country are interested in landing a commitment.
Even though Alabama joined this recruiting battle a bit late, they are definitely making a concerted effort to pursue a commitment. Coach Oats offered Hall a scholarship in early August and he already met with him on Sept. 11 during the live period as well. There are several other schools in the running, including the likes of Louisville, LSU, and NC State, but Alabama remains right in the thick of this race.
There are not any crystal ball predictions currently available for Hall but the Crimson Tide seem to be a legitimate contender for his commitment.
