Zed Key – Glen Head, NY

PF | 6-foot-8 | 215 lbs | No. 157

Zed Key was one of the nation’s biggest risers over the course of the summer. The 6-foot-8 power forward was absolutely tremendous on the Adidas Circuit and experienced an increase in recruiting interest as a result. Notre Dame issued Key a scholarship offer in late-July and they have remained involved in the battle. This much is evident by the fact that the coaching staff took a trip to LuHi during this current live period to see the budding forward.

With that said, though, the Fighting Irish are far from the only program involved in this recruiting battle. Key has already taken/planned official visits to Ohio State, Marquette, and Florida. Some of the others interested include Illinois, Providence, and St. John’s. There is clearly a ton of competition for this commitment and it is therefore hard to determine any true favorites.

With regards to his playing style, Zed Key is an all-around performer. He brings plenty of size at 6-foot-8, runs the floor well, and can score both inside and out. There is definite room for improvement but he is already on the right track with that. Key is climbing toward becoming a top 100 player in the class and that could occur during his senior season at LuHi.

He is planning on committing prior to that campaign, though. Notre Dame’s coaching staff has to be hoping to bring Key to campus for an official visit in the coming months.
