Hunter Dickinson – Hyattsville, MD

C | 7-foot-2 | 255 lbs | No. 34 overall

Easily one of the top big men in the 2020 recruiting class, Hunter Dickinson is a stud. At 7-foot-2 and 255 pounds, he clearly boasts plenty of size and consistently uses that to his advantage. He might not be a tremendous athlete but very few carve out space better than Dickinson. On the offensive end of the floor, Dickinson effectively uses several post moves to finish around the rim. He can also knock down the occasional mid-range jumper as well.

Dickinson puts his size to work on defense as well. He is not well-known as a shot-blocker but does alter plenty of shots around the rim. Dickinson positions himself well and can be a solid stopper inside both as a primary and help defender. Over the course of this past summer, Dickinson starred at the center spot for Team Takeover on the Nike EYBL circuit. He finished the season with averages of 13.2 points (58.9% FG), 7.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.8 blocks per game in 18 total contests.

With regards to his recruiting, Notre Dame has been viewed as one of the favorites for some time. The Fighting Irish have had their fair share of success with big men in the past and Dickinson could be the next in line. This recruiting battle, though, will not be easy to win. Dickinson also included Purdue, Louisville, North Carolina, Michigan, Florida State, and Providence in his final list.

Notre Dame is a serious contender but so are the rest. There does not seem to be a set timetable for his eventual commitment. Dickinson would be a major snag for the Fighting Irish as a star center. Watch out for the Tar Heels, Boilermakers, and Cardinals as major threats.
