476. . . . Providence Friars. . player

Providence has been one of the nation’s most underrated programs for the last several years. Even though the Friars are yet to make a deep run in the postseason under head coach Ed Cooley, they have reached the Big Dance in four of the last five seasons. There are not that many teams in the country that have experienced that level of consistency but yet the Friars are consistently undervalued each offseason.

Looking ahead to this coming season, Providence is regarded as a middle-of-the-road Big East team. Alpha Diallo will be leading the way and incoming freshman Greg Gantt might crack the rotation as well. Gantt is the only 2019 commit on the roster but he does come in ranked as the No. 67 overall player in the class. He boasts plenty of size at 6-foot-7 and is one of the most versatile newcomers to the conference.

Providence’s rotation will mostly feature returning pieces from last season but Gantt should be able to crack the rotation right away. His versatility should allow him to find minutes in differing roles throughout each contest. The Friars will likely rely on their starting lineup to supply the bulk of the offense but Gantt could be a solid two-way option off the bench.

Even though he might not be poised for a featured role this season, Gantt has “future star” written all over him. There is plenty of potential for him to be a big-time player with time.
