Oklahoma State needs Cade Cunningham

CG | 6-foot-6 | 215 lbs | No. 2 overall

Cade Cunningham could easily be the top overall prospect in the 2020 recruiting class. A 6-foot-6 guard with elite-level playmaking ability and plenty of scoring versatility, he looks the part of a true star at the college level. He will likely only play one collegiate season but it could be very special. He is a unique talent that could take the country by storm during this coming season. While there are several high-major programs involved in this recruitment, Oklahoma State is widely regarded as the favorite.

This is due to the fact that the program already held a solid advantage in this battle and then hired Cunningham’s brother as an assistant coach. This family connection could lead Cade Cunningham to commit to the Cowboys and that would be a major victory for the program. Head coach Mike Boynton is gathering plenty of momentum and Cunningham could be the commit needed to lead OK State to a special recruiting class.

Point guard Davonte Davis (No. 98) is the Cowboys’ only 2020 commitment so far.

If Cunningham chooses to play in Stillwater, he could take on a recruiting role himself to secure commitments from fellow top-rated prospects in the class. This is arguably the most intriguing recruiting battle in the entire country. Oklahoma State might be the current favorite with all 15 crystal ball predictions for Cunningham’s commitment but the coaching staff will have to beat out Florida, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Washington to land him.

Cunningham averaged 23.8 points (.592/.350/.737), 7.0 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game in 18 contests on the Nike EYBL circuit this summer. He led the way in multiple categories for Texas Titans.
