Key players for Georgia

Top returning scorer – Rayshaun Hammonds

Rayshaun Hammonds is the Bulldogs leading returning scorer at just over 12 points per game and a guy who started all but one game for Georgia last year. Hammonds has the ability to stretch the floor and will provide good size and experience in the Georgia lineup. There’s not a lot of experience in that frontcourt but Hammonds is a well-rounded player and looks to be a leader for this upcoming season, he’ll have plenty of opportunities to make a name for himself.

Player most likely to breakout – Anthony Edwards

No surprise here as the number two player in the entire country is primed to take the NCAA by storm. Anthony Edwards is likely a one and done player and should easily end up as a lottery pick. It will be crucial that Crean gets the most out of him this year in order to help put Georgia basketball on the map in the SEC. His ability to score the basketball should help Georgia who finished in the bottom third for points per game in the country. Edwards has the ability to help take Georgia to the next level, he’s a gamechanger and someone to keep an eye out for.

A newcomer to get excited for – Donnell Gresham Jr

A big get for Tom Crean will be Donnell Gresham, the Northeastern graduate transfer will step into that point guard position and be one of the main ball handlers for Tom Crean and the only player on the team with any tournament experience. Gresham should form a nice duo with Edwards and end up being one of the better frontcourts in the SEC. Gresham averaged around 10 points, five rebounds and three assists last season with Northeastern and has the ability to get to the hoop as well as knock down the three-ball.
