Croy’s newcomers could make an immediate impact

Croy has a handful of new players on campus that will be suiting up for the Lancers and if the trip to Australia is any indication, two of them, senior grad transfer Brandon Boyd and freshman Tre Armstrong are likely to make an immediate impact for the Lancers. Boyd, a 6-0 guard from Los Angeles played the previous four seasons at Idaho State.

He led the Bengals in points, assists and steals as a senior and during the team’s trip played significant minutes, leading the team in scoring in their finale with 23. Armstrong, like Boyd, started multiple games in Australia, netting 22 points in the team’s win over Melbourne United.

Armstrong comes to the team as a native of Australia, as do 6’9 Tristan Forsyth, 6-5 guard Wani Swaka Lo Buluk and 6’6 Reed Nottage who put up gaudy numbers while playing in Sydney, 35 points, nine rebounds, four assists, shooting 61% from the field and 43% from beyond the arc. Forsyth played last season at the College of the Sequoias where he averaged 12 points and 7.7 rebounds. Carson Towt is a 6’7 forward from Arizona where he averaged a double-double as a senior for Gilbert High School in Phoenix.
