6) Brown

2018-19 Record: 20-12 (7-7)

Last season, Brown finished 5th in the Ivy League. They were among the other teams in the middle of the pack that seemed to have the ability to beat and lose to anyone in the conference. It was almost a weird inconsistency that would occur, but Brown was capable of beating anybody in the conference. Unfortunately, I feel like Brown will be taking a small step backward this season instead of a step forward.

The issue is going to be replacing guard Desmond Cambridge. As a Sophomore last year, Cambridge averaged 15.7 ppg, then transferred to Nevada back in May. This loss is definitely going to hurt Brown because they were definitely on their way to better things in the Ivy League. Forward Tamenang Choh and guard Brandon Anderson were great contributors for Brown last season, so they are going to have to step up to lead this team.

5) Cornell

2018-19 Record:  15-16 (7-7)

Cornell finished near the middle of the pack in the Ivy League last season as well. Once again, they are a team capable of delivering heartbreaking losses to the teams looking to dominate the Ivy League. I do not feel like they have the personnel to make a run to the top themselves, but they will definitely be a tough team to play.

One thing that will hurt Cornell is no longer having Matt Morgan. Morgan was a fiery guard that averaged 22.2 ppg last season for the Big Red. Guard Terrance McBride is going to really have to step up this year. A positive for Cornell is the return of Jimmy Boeheim, the son of Syracuse Head Coach, Jim Boeheim. Boeheim is a great forward and I expect to see much of Cornell’s offense go through him.
