2) Pennsylvania

2018-19 Record: 19-12 (7-7)

This year’s Pennsylvania squad will be very talented. Don’t get me wrong, it was extremely talented a season ago, but it will be even better this year. One of the reasons Pennsylvania will be great is because of the return of four of their top five scorers from a season ago. This is why I feel that Penn has the edge over Yale this season.

Forward AJ Brodeur and guard Devon Goodman averaged 17.6 and 13.9 ppg, respectively, last season. Both Brodeur and Goodman are now seniors and were contributors on the 2017-18 Penn team that won the Ivy League. The senior leadership of these two is something Penn can look to, and these guys are certainly capable of leading this team to success.

Guards Michael Wang and Bryce Washington were both very good freshmen last season, and they will be better this year because of their experience. The Penn backcourt commanded by these two and Devon Goodman is going to give other teams in the Ivy League plenty of trouble.

The depth possessed by Pennsylvania is another factor that will contribute to their potential Ivy League success. It will be fun watching them compete at the top with both Harvard and Yale.
