Seton Hall Basketball: Why Myles Powell will win National Player of the Year

Existing national respect
Of course, you have to start with a platform as well – people have to be watching you for you to be able to wow them. Powell had his coming out party last year. This year, it’s about taking the next step forward.
Each of the previous 20 winners were named to an all-conference team in the season prior to being named National Player of the Year. Powell fits that criteria, as he was named a first team All-Big East performer in 2019 after being named the conference’s Most Improved Player in 2018.
Powell said at Big East Media Day that he understands the raised stakes going into the new season.
"“This year I can definitely feel the hype. This is my last go-around, so I’m going to make sure that this is the best one.”"
Powell has the platform, the surroundings, the opportunities, and (most importantly) the skills needed to become college basketball’s best player. It’s the reason I’m calling the 2019-20 season the #MylesPowellTakeoverTour – everything is set up for him to win National Player of the Year.
