The recruiting class is seven players strong

The first recruiting class under Williams is not only a big one but a good one. It is a seven-player class that is ranked 8th by 247Sports but it is also listed as the 34th best class in the country, with every recruit rated at three stars. The class has an even distribution position wise with three guards, three forwards and a center. The center is 6’10 Jonathan Aku, who despite being thin at just 210lbs. is a good rebounder with a developing offensive game, as well as being a plus defender.

The two shooting guards Williams has brought in are the super athletic Quenton Jackson who is the 6th best Junior College recruit in the country according to 247Sports, gives the Aggies a bit of experience at the college level. and Cashius McNeilly, a 6’4 guard from Ontario who comes to Texas A&M, may be the best of the bunch as a perimeter shooter. Rounding out the class is power forward Emanuel Miller, a 6’6 native of Napa, California who has a versatile inside-out game, 6’8 Yavuz Gultekin from Maryland, is a guy with serious versatility who has the ability to play up to four positions,  6’7 Bakari Simmons from Bradenton, Florida and Andre Gordon, a 6’2 combo guard from West Virginia.

The class should provide a good complement to the returning core and give Williams a roster that should be relatively deep. But, with so many youngsters it remains to be seen if he will lean on his veteran players more, especially once SEC play begins.
