ACC Conference Tournament: Mar 10th – 14th
Home: Wake Forest
The first game of the season for the Eagles is at home against the Demon Deacons of Wake Forest. Conference games to open up the season will be a challenge, to say the least. High energy game with the fans back to see the team in action. This game can possibly determine the Eagle’s success in the ACC. You do not usually see seasons starting out with a conference game.
Home: Saint Louis
Solid Atlantic 10 opponent in Saint Louis who will be coming to Chestnut Hill to challenge the Eagles. Winning games against other major conferences help out in many different categories. If the Eagles can pull this out, the Eagles are on the right path.
Home: Northwestern
The ACC/Big Ten Challenge is one of my favorite challenges in college basketball. Two of the top conferences playing against each other to determine whose the better conference. This can help the Eagles in the long run if they pull out a win against the Wildcats.
Home: Virginia
The defending National Champions come to town. Home crowd advantage will become a factor determining who wins this game. Virginia is well-coached and is a great defensive team, so the Eagles will have to capitalize on the majority of their possessions. The Cavaliers cannot be taken lightly.
Home: Duke
Wherever Duke goes, they always draw a big crowd. It’s been two years since the Eagles hosted Duke and won the game 89-84. Can the Eagles pull out another win against the Krzyzewski and the Blue Devils? It’ll be a battle from the beginning but if the Eagles can make shots, defend, and rebound the ball, there is a good chance they can pull off another upset.
Home: Syracuse
The Orange has a proven track record. Boeheim is an outstanding coach and will go down as one of the greatest college basketball coaches in history. Known for their zone defense, Boston College will have to be able to break that down and drive the ball to the rim. If they can drive and score, try and pull the defenders in and then pass out for an open 3.
