NCAA Basketball: 75 best non-conference games for 2019-20 season
Strong Mid-Majors vs. Potential Title Contenders
There are not very many of these games. That is because the strong mid-major hardly ever gets the best of the contender, but it can happen. Over the past few years, we have seen a few mid-majors walk onto a contender’s home court and shock the world. Will it happen this year?
7. Duke vs. Wofford (Dec. 19)
Wofford has lost a lot of the guys that allowed them to be so threatening when playing against contenders. Nonetheless, let’s give them some credit. They have the hardest non-conference schedule in America and a few guys that will give Duke trouble.
Winner: Duke
6. North Carolina vs. Wofford (Dec. 15)
As stated previously, Wofford just isn’t the same. Last time they were in Chapel Hill, however, Wofford left with a victory.
Winner: North Carolina
5. Kansas vs. UNC Greensboro (Nov. 8)
Isaiah Miller will give Kansas some trouble and I think he’s going to be the most athletic player on the floor. The talent possessed by the Jayhawks everywhere else will be too much.
Winner: Kansas
4. Kansas vs. East Tennessee State (Nov. 19)
Kansas was smart by scheduling two tough SoCon opponents. This will bode well for them when met with a mid-major in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament.
Winner: Kansas
3. Louisville vs. Western Kentucky (Nov. 29)
Louisville did not do very well last year, yet, the experts are certain they are contenders. Western Kentucky will come in and give them all they can handle. Louisville will survive, but they will be given a wake-up call.
Winner: Louisville
2. Villanova vs. Pennsylvania (Dec. 4)
Winner: Pennsylvania
1. Florida vs. Utah State (Dec. 21, Orange Bowl Classic)
Florida is receiving a lot of talk and Utah State has guys that want to shock the college basketball world. They will get the best of the Gators in the state of Florida.
Winner: Utah State
