NCAA Basketball: 75 best non-conference games for 2019-20 season
Solid High-Majors vs. Potential Title Contenders
These high-major contender matchups are extremely fun because the contenders are often shaken and tested like never before. The solid high-majors that are under the radar make it their mission to capture the hearts of college basketball fans, and wow the NCAA Tournament committee by stealing a victory against an elite opponent.
18. North Carolina vs. Alabama (Nov. 27, Battle 4 Atlantis)
Nate Oats will have his guys ready to give Alabama a tough test, but they do not have enough to pull off this upset in the Battle 4 Atlantis.
Winner: North Carolina
17. Kansas vs. Colorado (Dec. 7)
Colorado will be good in the PAC 12 and Kansas will be extremely talented once again. This one will be close for a while and Colorado can make an NCAA Tournament statement by keeping it close.
Winner: Kansas
16. Kansas vs. Tennessee (Jan. 25, Big 12/SEC Challenge)
I expect Tennessee to give Kansas more of an issue than Colorado will. In the Big 12/SEC Challenge on January 25th, Tennessee will gain more national respect by heading into Kansas and shocking the Jayhawks.
Winner: Tennessee
15. Tennessee vs. Memphis (Dec. 14)
There is a ton of talk about Memphis due to their top recruiting class, but I’m not buying into it much since these guys are yet to play a college game. Tennessee is still the best team in Tennessee and it will be proven by their senior leaders.
Winner: Tennessee
14. Memphis vs. Ole Miss (Nov. 23)
As I mentioned before, the talented Memphis freshmen are yet to play a college game and a team led by a great senior will be what beats them. For that, I think Breein Tyree and the Rebels will pull off the “upset”.
Winner: Ole Miss
13. Iowa State vs. Seton Hall (Dec. 8)
I think Myles Powell is who makes Seton Hall deserve the title of “contender”. He will make that clear when the game with Iowa State comes.
Winner: Seton Hall
