6. Texas Tech vs. Kentucky (Jan. 25, Big 12/SEC Challenge)

Kentucky was not given much of a gift with this Big 12/SEC Challenge game on January 25th. A trip to Lubbock will result in a loss for the Wildcats and a huge win for the Red Raiders.

Winner: Texas Tech

5. Memphis vs. Georgia (Jan. 4)

Everyone is excited for this game to see Georgia freshman, Anthony Edwards, take on the highly talented freshman of Memphis. I think Georgia still has a few years before they get really good, so I think Memphis will just be too much.

Winner: Memphis

4. North Carolina vs. Ohio State (Dec. 10, Jimmy V Classic)

The Jimmy V Classic will be a great opportunity to see how good this Ohio State team is. I think they send a message by upsetting the Tar Heels.

Winner: Ohio State

3. Ohio State vs. Villanova (Nov. 13, Gavitt Tip-Off)

Villanova will prove early in the year that they are a national contender. They will use some early games against good high-majors to gain key victories that will be important to NCAA Tournament seeding.

Winner: Villanova

2. Louisville vs. Texas Tech (Dec. 10, Jimmy V Classic)

I find this game rather difficult to assess. Louisville’s talent may very well overwhelm the Red Raiders, but Texas Tech has the dudes to make this a heck of a battle. It will be a thriller and Louisville will barely escape.

Winner: Louisville

1. Kentucky vs. Ohio State (Dec. 21, CBS Sports Classic)

Ohio State’s victory over North Carolina at the Jimmy V Classic will make it clear to Kentucky that they need to take the Buckeyes seriously in order to avoid being upset. They will do just that. Kentucky takes this one, but it will also be extremely exciting.

Winner: Kentucky
