NCAA Basketball: 75 best non-conference games for 2019-20 season
Matchups Featuring Potential Title Contenders
These matchups are between the teams that are the best in the country heading into the season. They have a huge national impact and will be the precedent for how the rankings shape up throughout the year. These games are also very important for seeding purposes when the NCAA Tournament rolls around. The quality of basketball in these games is at the highest level.
10. Oregon vs. Seton Hall (Nov. 27, Battle 4 Atlantis)
I know… These two may not seem like contenders, but both have hungry seniors that make them capable of beating anybody in college basketball. Oregon will take this one, but Myles Powell for Seton Hall will be the best player on the floor.
Winner: Oregon
9. Seton Hall vs. Maryland (Dec. 19)
Seton Hall will have fixed a lot of the issues determined from early-season losses and be ready to take it to this Maryland team.
Winner: Seton Hall
8. Seton Hall vs. Michigan State (Nov. 14, Gavitt Tip-Off)
A game with Cassius Winston and Myles Powell going toe to toe will be absolutely incredible. Seton Hall really is not much outside of Powell, so that will be what hurts them in this game. Cassius Winston and the Michigan State Spartans will prove that they are the best team in NCAA basketball.
Winner: Michigan State
7. Oregon vs. Memphis (Dec. 12, Phil Knight Invitational)
With all of the hype and doubts surrounding Memphis at the same time, I think it will get to Wiseman and the rest of the young Memphis squad. They will use it as needed fire to pick up a key victory over Oregon.
Winner: Memphis
6. Gonzaga vs. North Carolina (Dec. 18)
North Carolina has to travel to Gonzaga. Last year, North Carolina got to host this one and the Tar Heels won. Now that the game is in Spokane, Gonzaga will get the victory over the Tar Heels at home.
Winner: Gonzaga
