5. Western Kentucky vs. Bowling Green (Nov. 22, Paradise Jam)

Bowling Green will be a strong MAC competitor and Western Kentucky will be toward the top of Conference USA. Western Kentucky’s fiery center, Charles Bassey, will be an issue for the Bowling Green Falcons, and I think his presence will be the difference in this game, but it will be extremely close.

Winner: Western Kentucky

4. Vermont vs. UNCG (Dec. 18)

Vermont will dominate the American East this season and UNCG will have a chance to capture the NCAA Tournament berth from the SoCon. This matchup is interesting because Vermont has the advantage in the front court, while UNCG has the backcourt advantage. In the end, I think Anthony Lamb and Vermont get it done.

Winner: Vermont

3. Liberty vs. Grand Canyon (Dec. 8, Air Force Reserve Classic)

This game in the Air Force Reserve Classic will be nothing short of exciting. With this game being given national attention, both will be looking to pick up a key victory. This is honestly a very hard game to pick, but I am going to go with Liberty in an absolute thriller.

Winner: Liberty

2. College of Charleston vs. VCU (Dec. 18)

College of Charleston brings in VCU. This is a great opportunity for senior guard, Grant Riller, and his Charleston teammates to send a message to the rest of the Colonial by taking out a good A10 squad in VCU.

Winner: VCU

1. Saint Mary’s vs. Utah State (Nov. 29)

I am extremely excited about this one. Not only is this the best game between mid-majors, but it is one of the best non-conference games out of all of them. Both of these teams are solid in all phases of the game and I could see this one being back and forth and filled with excitement. I think it might even get chippy. The advantage will be due to the home court. If this one was at Utah State, then Utah State would win.

Winner: Saint Mary’s
