5. Marquette @ Davidson (Nov. 28, Orlando Invitational)

Davidson finds themselves in yet another great game with a high-major, but they will not win this one. Markus Howard will be too much.

Winner: Marquette

4. Wisconsin vs. Saint Mary’s (Nov. 5)

Wisconsin’s offense will have a lot to get straight without Happ this season, and Saint Mary’s is out for blood. Saint Mary’s has a stronger backcourt as well.

Winner: Saint Mary’s

3. Purdue vs. VCU (Nov. 29, Emerald Coast Classic)

This game in the Emerald Coast Classic will be fun. I’m yet to buy into VCU’s ability to win games against some of these solid high-majors, so I think Purdue will get the first round victory.

Winner: Purdue

2. LSU vs. Utah State (Nov. 22, Jamaica Classic)

I’d like to tip my hat to LSU for playing games against so many talented mid-majors. That’s a great way to prepare for the NCAA Tournament. This matchup in the Jamaica Classic will be very fast-paced and extremely close. The Tigers will survive a slugfest with one of the nation’s best mid-majors in Utah State.

Winner: LSU

1. Virginia vs. Vermont (Nov. 19)

This game is exciting because it pits the defending NCAA Champions against a very good mid-major in Vermont. Virginia will have its hands full and I think the Catamounts pull off the “upset”.

Winner: Vermont
