Injured Star Players

Joshua Langford, Senior, Guard, Michigan State

I told you that this guy and the next have to be mentioned. There’s no clear timetable on Josh Langford. He injured his foot 13 games in last season. Somehow Michigan State still made it to the final four. With a healthy Langford, I believe the Spartans would’ve won it all. A lot of people forget Langford was Michigan State’s second-best recruit in 2016. He and Miles Bridges were both five-star athletes. He along with all of the Spartans struggled that year. His sophomore season was a terrific one, finally playing with all the guys he came in with.

Last year was turning into be his best season yet. I was impressed with how was finally figuring out a dominant three-point shot. If Langford wants to be a lethal shooting guard in the Big Ten, he has to be able to shoot from outside. He was averaging over two triples per game and 15 points before being shutdown for the season.

Jordan Bohannon, Senior, Guard, Iowa

There’s still a strong chance that Langford still plays this season. The chances of Jordan Bohannon suiting up for Iowa at all is dwindling. He did say that if he doesn’t feel 100 percent by the time the season starts, he’ll take a redshirt. The more time this takes, the worst it seems. Iowa goes from a sure-fire top-five Big Ten team to somewhere around eight or nine. Bohannon has been the leader since year 1. He averaged over five assists per game during his freshman and sophomore season.

It’s hard to believe he made more three-pointers in each of those first two seasons than in his junior year which was remembered for knocking down some very clutch shots. Bohannon’s assist numbers also went down, but that was due to the fact that Iowa has some talent now. Bohannon will be one of the stars this year if he’s healthy or next during his redshirt senior year.
