Kansas

Overall record: 4-4

Record vs Duke: 2-0

Record vs Kentucky: 1-2

Record vs Michigan State: 1-2

Winning their first Champions Classic game in 2013, Kansas has the best record since then, going 4-2. That includes a three-game winning streak in which Kansas has been squeaking out wins by an average of 3.6 points a game. Gaining their first wins against Michigan State and Kentucky in the past two seasons, Kansas and Kentucky are the only two of the four to have wins against all three teams.

Bill Self has a career 3-1 record against Coach K during his time as head coach of Kansas. Two of those wins have come in the Champions Classic. The Blue Devils are the only team the Jayhawks have a winning record against in the competition, with a 1-2 record against the other two.

The 2016 matchup between Kansas and Duke turned into an instant classic, as the Jayhawks defeated the Blue Devils 77-75. Kansas shot the ball exceptionally well, shooting 64.6% from the field. While they struggled from behind the arc (going 2-17), Frank Mason led the team with 21 points, including the game-winning shot that dropped with 1.8 seconds left in the game. Five out of the seven Duke players that played in the game were in double figures, but the Blue Devils were outrebounded by 12.

The Jayhawks take their unbeaten record against Duke into Madison Square Garden, where they can join the Blue Devils as the only team to have three wins against one team.
