Kansas Jayhawks 3/2 (to win the Big 12)

More times than not when looking at the conference future bets, I fade the favorite to win the conference with the presented value. This is common because the favorite will get a high percentage of the bets and will cause the line to move and lose value. The Big 12 is my one exception of this write-up and for a good reason with a Kansas team at +150 odds to win the conference.

Kansas has won 18 conference championships in the previous 23 seasons.  This includes 14 consecutive conference championships, which is an NCAA record. They fell short last season, with losing Udoka Azubuike to injury and Lagerald Vick taking a leave of absence.

This pick is more to do with the talent of this Jayhawks team than the lack of talent with some of the other Big 12 teams. Texas Tech and Baylor are the next two favorites at +500, right behind Kansas. These are two teams that could make deep runs in the tournament.

As far as the Big 12 goes, pick Kansas to win this conference. If center Udoka Azubuike stays healthy, and Devon Dotson and Ochai Agbaji can step up this season, this Jayhawk team will be a favorite to win the NCAA tournament.

If Snoop Dogg’s rap performance at the “Late Night in the Phog” is any foreshadowing to what the season could be for Kansas, this season could be a good one and one of a kind ;). ‘When you pay for Snoop Dogg, you gonna get Snoop Dogg, and hopefully, when you bet Kansas Jayhawks basketball, you gonna get Kansas Jayhawks basketball.
