The backcourt battles will be exciting

For two teams that typically pride themselves on frontcourt dominance, the backcourt battles may steal the show and be the most exciting to watch during this game. Don’t get me wrong both teams still have a talented frontcourt. Nate Reuvers will deal some damage for Wisconsin, while Malik Fitts will shine for St. Mary’s, but the backcourt matchups are just more intriguing.

Both backcourts possess lots of experience, speed, and toughness that make them deadly when they find a rhythm on offense. I mentioned before that Wisconsin has questions to answer on offense, so they may have to rely on their guards even more. If they do, then tomorrow will be even more fun.

Wisconsin guards Brad Davison and D’Mitrik Trice will be tough to handle. The Saint Mary’s guards, Jordan Ford and Tanner Krebs, will be just as threatening. All four of these guys are capable of stepping up and taking control of tomorrow’s game. They are all clutch shooters and great ball handlers. They also do not need much space in order to get a good look towards the basket.

Not only will these be great matchups offensively, but all of these guards are great defenders as well. This will lend to the backcourt war being very spectacular. I honestly think that whoever wins the fight in the backcourt will win this game.
