Key #2 – 3 Point Shooting

3 Pointers are so crucial in the game of basketball now. It seems like teams are looking to take a 3-pointer rather than a 2-pointer. 3-pointers are better than a long 2-pointer any day of the week. The Redhawks are going to need to do better than shooting 28.5% from 3. Even though Pacific Lutheran is not a Division 1 school, you need to do better than shoot 28.5% from 3.

The Redhawks are going to need to make the extra pass. They cannot force 3’s, they need to take ones that are highly make-able. Forcing shots is not a good way to play, and the Redhawks need to make 3’s. They will need to execute their plays and make an extra pass if need be. Like I’ve said before if they play catch-up, it’s going to be a long night for the Redhawks.

Teams rely on the 3-ball for the majority of their points. My prediction is if the Redhawks can have a 35% from 3 on Thursday, I think they can put up a good fight against the Cougars. They just need to knock them down early and throughout the game.
