Key #1 – Mac McClung

Mac McClung needs to produce more for the Hoyas early on in this game. McClung only scored 6 points in the Hoyas game against Central Arkansas. He was 1-10 from the floor and couldn’t get anything going for him early on so the Hoyas will need him to be able to contribute from the start if they want to grab a huge non-conference win.

The Big East Conference is one of the toughest Division 1 basketball conferences and the Hoyas will need to bring all they have in order to be successful this season and McClung will need to be able to improve game after game and work hard in practice to improve.

McClung is a great shooter if he can get going. In 31 games last year, he averaged 13 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 2 apg, shot 39.1% from the field, 27.5% from 3, and shot 80.9% from the free throw line. One huge accolade for McClung was being selected to the Big East All-Selection team. Known for his slam-dunking ability, McClung was a popular name in the Big East. He was a huge piece to the puzzle for the Hoyas last season. The Hoyas will be looking to him to make plays and help the Hoyas run in transition and get buckets.
