Favorite to Win: Villanova
Villanova has a tough first game against Middle Tennessee, but with Villanova’s depth, I don’t see them struggling much throughout the invitational. If they get past Middle Tennessee, I think their road will still be tough, but not as bad as getting past Middle Tennessee. Middle Tennessee will be looking to make an upset in the first game so be prepared for them to come ready to play.
Sleeper: Tulane
Look for Tulane to be sneaky and get a win early against Mississippi State. This will most likely be an upset and I think that they can turn some people’s heads and make a difference early on in the invitational. If their scoring goes as they planned, they should be good and be able to compete and put up good numbers.
Most Pressure to Win: Villanova
With being ranked high in the polls, Villanova has a challenge at being able to win early on. If they can’t win this invitational, I think lots of people will start to doubt the Wildcats and think that this will be a repeat of last season. Every game for a ranked team has a lot of pressure for them to win, so if the Wildcats can win, expect them to jump in the polls and get people to believe in them this year.
