UConn has really good Freshmen

Akok Akok and James Bouknight were excellent against Buffalo. The highly anticipated debut for Bouknight definitely didn’t disappoint despite getting a limited number of minutes. Hurley has a real talent here with a lot of potential to be a big contributor immediately. Eight points and six rebounds, when he’s off his leash, lookout.

Akok had his best game in a UConn uniform I thought, he got off to a hot start and then kind of took a back seat for the rest of the game but the flashes he shows makes him look like a really encouraging piece.

Akok Akok got the start for the Huskies and was off to a really quick start. UConn has been really struggling to score in the first few minutes of games and being able to keep pace with Buffalo’s fast start not allowing them to fall into a deep hole as they did against Saint Joe’s. Once UConn was able to get themselves established they were able to start knocking down some shots and get a handle on the quick pace that Buffalo was playing with.

Interesting to see how they play in the second-round matchup with Xavier, hopefully, Bouknight gets some more action and Akok can build off his solid performance.
